As most of the people prefer to play Smash with the GameCube controller, the Nintendo of Europe announced that the special edition version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will come with a Nintendo Switch-compatible GameCube controller. It will be launching on Dec. 7, the same day as the game release.

The Nintendo Switch first added support for GameCube controllers back in October 2017 so players with the Wii U’s GameCube controller adaptor could use their preferred method on Switch. It wasn’t until Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was revealed that Nintendo shared it would be offering GameCube controllers once again.

Here’s what Nintendo of Europe wrote on Tweeter page:

Releasing alongside the regular edition on 07/12, Super #SmashBros Ultimate – Limited Edition contains a copy of the game, a Nintendo GameCube Controller Super Smash Bros. edition and a Nintendo GameCube Controller adapter!

Well, Nintendo will also sell standalone Smash-themed GameCube controllers. You can pre-order one them now from Amazon for $30 each now. If you’re not planning to get the Limited Edition, make sure you also pre-order an adapter.

We don’t know how much this limited edition of Smash Ultimate will be, but if it’s less than $110, it’s a deal for now. The news came right after the most recent Nintendo Direct video about Smash Ultimate, in which Nintendo revealed new characters, stages, items, and more coming to the fifth Super Smash Bros. game and more.
