So, all new Shiny Grimer and shiny Geodude are ready to catch on this Pokemon GO event with the latest Pokemon GO update for Android and iOS devices. So, here we are gonna tell you how to get shiny Pokemon GO! Let’s see what’s new of Pokemon UPDATE!

SHINY GEODUDE Pokemon UPDATE

Pokemon GO Developers Niantic have just updated the game and begun rolling out the promised Pokemon GO Ultra Bonus rewards for trainers following a summer of successful Pokemon GO events.

“Throughout the past few months, many of you have worked hard to meet the goals of Professor Willow’s Global Research Challenge,” explained the Pokemon GO Blog post earlier this week.

“During the Dortmund Safari Zone event in June, Pokémon GO Fest in July, and the Yokosuka Safari Zone event in August, Trainers from all around the world completed a variety of research tasks for Professor Willow with dedication and enthusiasm. And now it’s time to celebrate with a special Ultra Bonus Event!”

The first big reward dolled out by the Ultra Bonus is now live, namely, more Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region (gen 1) appearing in the wild.

However, no less than 30 minutes into the event, trainers over the world are already reporting new shiny Pokemon. Namely Geodude and Grimer!

At the time of writing, there aren’t that many ways to encounter Geodude in Pokemon GO. And that means your variety of ways of encountering a Shiny Geodude is also pretty limited.

For those wondering it’s not possible to encounter a Shiny Graveler or Golem in the wild. So, the question then becomes, how can you encounter a Shiny Geodude?

To try and make things easy we’ve broken it down so you can see the four main ways you might normally encounter a Shiny in the game and whether they apply to Shiny Geodude.

Also, this goes without saying but when you do find that Shiny Geodude you will need 125 candy to evolve the Geodude into Graveler and then Golem.

Egg Hatches:

Geodude is not currently hatching from any eggs at the moment. So, there’s zero chance of a shiny. This could change in the future though so stay tuned.

Raid Battles:

At the time of writing, Geodude cannot be encountered in Raid battles. So that rules that option out. That said, this may change in the weeks ahead.

In the Wild:

Geodude should be quite common at the moment and this will likely be your best bet if you want to encounter a shiny. According to Silph Road research suggests there’s about a 1/450 chance of encountering a Shiny.

To boost your chances, head over to the Silph Road Global Nest Atlas to find your nearest Geodude nest, because obviously, the more you encounter, the higher your odds.

September Field Research:

There are currently no Field Research Tasks in September that offers the chance to encounter a Geodude, or likewise a Shiny Geodude.
